Medical Doctor – MBChB, CCFP
From an early age, Dr. Viljoen’s own experience taught him how important one’s appearance can be not only in how the world perceives them, but also in their own self-image. As a young adult in South Africa, he worked as a waiter during school holidays and weekends in order to save for corrective ear surgery. Shortly after the procedure, he recognized a boost in self confidence as well as in his grades. Both helped him gain acceptance to medical school. Following medical school he did practicals in various specialties including surgery, obstetrics, and emergency medicine. In 2010 he moved to Saskatchewan where he gained further experience as a family physician and ER physician. At the same time, he actively pursued his interest and love of aesthetics by attending numerous seminars and specialized training.
From his first days in Canada, Mighael always felt a strong connection and trust with the people of Saskatchewan. Even after relocating to Toronto in 2013, he still traveled to Saskatchewan for work on a monthly basis enjoying the best of both worlds. While appreciating the variety the city has to offer, he is grounded by the generosity, sincerity, authenticity, and genuity of the folk in Saskatchewan. He now spends half of his time in Yorkton.
After more than 10 years of experience in aesthetics, Dr. Viljoen is the proud founder and medical director of MODA medical aesthetics. He has an eye for seeing people’s unique qualities and beauty. He believes all of the treatments chosen by clients should focus on their own happiness and well being. True beauty comes from within, and it is a bonus if you are happy in your skin.
When not working Mighael enjoys crossfit, gardening, architecture, design and travel.
Carol was born and raised in Wawota, Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiology in 1996. After working in public relations and promotions, she pursued nursing and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2001 through the NEPS program at the University of Saskatchewan.
Over the years, Carol and her husband have lived across Saskatchewan, gaining experience in a wide range of nursing roles including northern nursing, public health, home care, prenatal and postnatal care, communicable disease management, emergency medicine, and obstetrics. In 2004, they settled in Yorkton to start a family, and it has been home ever since.
In 2013, Carol graduated with a Master of Nursing in Advanced Nursing Practice from Athabasca University. She has practiced in primary care since then, with interests in pediatric health, stroke prevention, and women’s pelvic health, and is passionate about helping people optimize their health across all stages of life.
Outside of work, Carol enjoys time with family, friends, and her pets, along with a wide range of hobbies including gardening, camping, canoeing, cycling, CrossFit, triathlons, hunting, fishing, and pickleball.
Office Administrator
Born and raised on her family’s farm near Jasmin, Saskatchewan, Mariah brings her hardworking, friendly nature to the MODA team. After graduating from Ituna School in 2023, she pursued her passion for organization and service by earning her Office Administration certificate from Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Regina.
With a deep interest in skincare, Mariah is dedicated to helping clients achieve their best skin health outcomes. Her kind-hearted approach ensures everyone feels welcome and supported at MODA.
Outside of work, Mariah stays busy on the farm, driving combines, tending to cattle, and barrel racing her horse. She also loves spending time with her family and friends.
Chantel grew up on a farm outside of MacNutt, Saskatchewan. She moved to Saskatoon where she earned her certification in esthetics and gained experience working at a Spa. She then moved to Yorkton where she studied nursing and has worked as an LPN for the last 9 years. A perfect combination of knowledge and experience for providing excellent services at MODA!
Chantel has always had a passion for beauty and skin care. She has a heart as big as her smile and is passionate about helping our clients achieve their best results through her gentle hands.
When Chantel is not working, she can be found spending time with her kids Zoe and Gunnar and her partner Everett enjoying all the adventures life has to offer.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Kerilyn built her foundation in health care at a busy family physician clinic, where she spent nine years supporting patients and practitioners. Life led her to Yorkton, where she continued her career in primary health care and first met Dr. Viljoen. During seven years at the Yorkton clinic, she worked closely with him in both the primary care setting and by managing appointment bookings for his aesthetic clients.
Her commitment to patient experience and clinic operations opened the door to a management role, where she spent two and a half years leading and supporting clinic teams. In the fall of 2025, she returned to the aesthetic side of medicine and joined the MODA Medical team.
Outside the clinic, Kerilyn enjoys a full life with her husband, Jason, whom she married in October 2023. At home, their two cats, Huntyr and Bella, keep things lively.
Originally from Korea and proudly calling Canada home for over 20 years, Kate brings over two decades of experience in the beauty and skincare industry, with advanced training in medical aesthetics.
With a strong foundation in skin health and a passion for continuous education, Kate specializes in non-injectable treatments such as JetPeel, EXION, and Plexr — helping clients achieve smoother texture, brighter tone, and natural-looking lift.
Known for her gentle touch and detail-oriented approach, Kate combines technology with personalized care to deliver results that look refreshed, never overdone.
