What is Lumecca IPL?

Lumecca is an advanced and non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to address a wide range of skin concerns effectively. How does Lumecca IPL work?

Lumecca operates by selectively using photothermolysis, which targets red and brown pigment in the skin. It provides a photo facial through the delivery of a much more comfortable light treatment compared to standard devices and offers a no-downtime photo-facial.

What preparation is needed?

Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning 4 weeks prior to the treatment. Stop all Retin-A, retinol, glycols, bleaching creams, and exfoliants three days before treatment.

How many sessions are recommended?

Improvement can be noted after the first session, although multiple sessions may be indicated for specific skin concerns and skin types. Typically, 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended.

What to Expect?

During treatment, there will be a bright flash of light from Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subside within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours, you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an even-out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel, which dissipates after a few days.
